Ingredients
1.5poundLean Ground MeatBeef, Turkey, Chicken
1/4CupOniondiced
1tablespoonCornstarch (can sub flour or xantaham gum)can sub flour if you do not have cornstarch
1tablespoonPaprika
3teaspoonsgarlicor sub a few shakes of garlic powder
1 teaspoonsSea salt
1/2teaspoonGround Black Pepper
1/2teaspoonWhite Sugar
2cupsHOT water
1 1/2cupsMilk
2 1/2cupsShredded Cheese
10-12ozWhole Wheat of Gluten Free PastaYour favorite shapes.
Instructions
Heat diced onion and meat in a large skillet over medium high heat. Stir until the meat is no longer pink and drain grease.
Add in cornstarch/flour and spices. Stir. Add the hot water, milk, and pasta, then bring to a boil. Cover with a lid, reduce heat and simmer for 7-10 or until the pasta is al dente. (If you are using gluten free pasta, check your label for cooking times, you don't want to over cook)
Sprinkle cheese over meat and pasta mixture and stir until melted into the sauce. Remove from the heat, and let stand about 5 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
Notes
Use 1.5 to 2 pounds of ground meat for this one. You'd rather have it a little protein heavy than light. Mod Carb Meal, sorry, no low carb options for this one! Serve with roasted/steamer veggies or side salad. Don't leave them out!
