The “If It Fits Your Macros” way of eating is one of my favorite eating styles because it allows you to eat what you want! To do it properly you need to know some nutrition basics though. I recommend using an app like MyFitnessPal while getting started to help you learn what macros the foods you are eating are made up of, which will help you see what you are eating too much (or not enough) of. Our Finally Fit Academy teaches macros in depth but logging your food can really be eye opening!
Save the cheat sheet below for quick reference when you are trying to fill a gap in your macros. I can’t tell you how many clients get frustrated because they don’t hit their macros, but when we dive into their logs we find that they thought peanut butter and whole eggs were boosting their protein….but these foods are mostly fat!
I hope this helps you choose what foods you need and what to stay away from when you’re on the go!
